Dendermonde
Dendermonde (French: Termonde) is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Dendermonde proper and the towns of Appels, Baasrode, Grembergen, Mespelare, Oudegem, Schoonaarde and Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde. On January 1st, 2005 Dendermonde had a total population of 43,081. The total area is 55.67 km² which gives a population density of 773.80 inhabitants per km².

Dendermonde likes to be known for its decennial procession, featuring the heroic horse, Ros Beiaard. Legend has this horse saving his master and his three brothers from capture by Charles the Great.
