Demon Days

Gorillaz and The Beatles

The art on the album cover and some pages from the booklet inside bears some resemblance to those from The Beatles. The Demon Days album cover is styled similarly to The Beatles' Let It Be cover as both the albums have black frames and white lettering, and the four Gorillaz members face to the right while all but one of the four Beatles face left.

In the booklet, every song from the album is represented with a page and artwork for each song. In the page for "Every Planet We Reach Is Dead", the four are astronauts on a barren planet and standing in a scene from the album sleeve of Help!. In "Last Living Souls", a numbered sihouette page in the style from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is recreated. Only the four Gorillaz members are shown fully, but it is believed that DJ Dangermouse is also among the group.

Additionally, in the members' fictional Kong Studios, the Yellow Submarine could be also seen in the basement.

There is also a rumor circulating that Murdoc Niccals (Gorillaz' Bassist) may be dead, and the creators are leaving hints towards this, through official artwork, lyrics, promotional videos and even backtracked sections of Gorillaz songs ala the Paul is Dead rumor. The two major sources of this are lyrics in the song "Murdoc is God" and a piece of artwork in a Gorillaz promotional book depicting Murdoc as a zombie.
