The word demo may refer to one of the following.

• A music demo is a recording of a song created for reference rather than for release.
• A software demo is a demonstration version of proprietary software.
• A computer programming demo is a program created to demonstrate the abilities of coders, computer graphics artists and musicians that are involved in the demoscene.
• A computer game demo can refer to either a gameplay recording or a demonstration version of a game.
• A political demo is short form for a protest march or similar action.
• As a shorthand for demolition:
• By construction workers and engineers: "We need to finish the lead paint abatement before we can start the demo phase".
• "Demo" in SWAT lingo, means "demolitions" material, or team, related to the usage of explosives to break through doors or walls.
