Dell Magazines
Dell Magazines is a company founded by George T. Delacorte Jr. in 1921. His goal was to entertain readers who were not satisfied with the genteel publications available at the time. While he did launch some daring magazines (such as the humorous Ballyhoo and mystery magazines including Inside Detective), by far his most successful innovation was the puzzle magazine, a genre that continues to grow in popularity to this day.

Over the years, many new publications have been added to the line, and Dell Magazines now publishes a large array of specialized puzzle magazines, such as Crosswords, Word searches, Fill-In Puzzles, Variety Puzzles, and Math & Logic Puzzles. In 1996, Dell Magazines joined forces with Penny Press to create Penny Publications, now the parent company of both Dell Magazines and Penny Press. The magazines are available on newsstands in the United States and Canada, and via subscription worldwide.
