Delaware
Delaware is a state of the United States. It is known as the "First State" because it was the first of the 13 colonies to ratify the United States Constitution, thus making it the first state in the union. Ratification occurred on December 7, 1787.
Education
Delaware was the location of Belton v. Gebhart one of the four cases combined into Brown v. Board of Education that lead to the end of school segregation in the U.S. Belton was the only case where the courts found for the plaintiffs ruling that the negro students should immediately be enrolled in the white schools.
