It is unclear what were the motives of Deep Throat's desire to help Mulder uncover the truth about extraterrestrial life. Deep Throat himself has stated that helping Mulder is his way of clearing his own conscience after having killed an alien. It seems that Deep Throat believes that truth should be known, but some truths should still be hidden.
