Deejay is also frequently used as slang for Disc jockey. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Jamaica's style of rapping that was the predecessor of today's rap/hip hop. It is also sometimes referred to as chatting, or toasting. Artists such as U-Roy, Big Youth, Beenie Man, and Bounty Killer are some of the artists associated with deejaying.
