Debates on the grammar school

The debate about the merits of the Tripartite System, also known as the grammar school system, still continues forty years after its abolition began. It has merged with discussions of the merits of selective education in general. Usually, principled opposition to the Tripartite System is a position associated with the left, while support is more to the right. However, there are a great many exceptions, particularly among those with personal experience of the system.
