~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ He was born on the Island of Faleatiu, Western Samoa and moved to Mangere, Auckland, New Zealand with his family at the age of 10. His left hook destined him to be a champion but problems with his manager Kevin Barry interfered with his career. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Boxing for New Zealand, Tua won the Bronze Medal in the Heavyweight contest at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, turning professional later that year. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ David Tua has arguably the most devastating punch in the Heavyweight division (his left hook), and also perhaps the best chin.
