David Sarnoff


 

David Sarnoff (February 27, 1891December 12, 1971) was the General Manager of Radio Corporation of America (RCA) from its founding in 1919 to his retirement in 1970. Known as the general he ruled over an ever-growing radio and electronics empire that became one of the largest companies in the world.

Death and afterwards

In 1971, Sarnoff died in his sleep of cardiac arrest. Without his leadership, RCA quickly faded during the 1970s, and today exists in name only as a subsidiary of General Electric. David Sarnoff is interred in Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.
