Marks played rhythm guitar and sang harmony vocals. He was replaced by Jardine because the latter's university career had faltered and Jardine fitted in better in the band, musically and socially. Marks rejoined the Beach Boys in 1997, but left in 1999 and is still touring with his two bands, The Marksmen and Beach Party!.
