David Heathcoat-Amory

The Right Honourable David Philip Heathcoat-Amory (born March 21, 1949) is a British politician, and Conservative member of Parliament for Wells. He is a member of the Privy Council.

He was a whip and minister under Margaret Thatcher and John Major, resigning from the Government in 1996. He was William Hague's shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Secretary of State for Trade and Industry from 1997 to 2001. Since then he has focused on the European Constitution.
