David Daiches
David Daiches (September 2 1912 ?July 15 2005) was a British literary critic. He wrote extensively on Scottish topics, as well as literature.

He was born in Sunderland, in a Jewish family with a Lithuanian background. He moved to Edinburgh about the end of World War I, where his father became a prominent rabbi. He studied at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Oxford.
