Dave Weckl
Dave Weckl (born January 8, 1960) is a jazz fusion drummer. Many regard him as the most acclaimed and talented drummer in the world working today. His idol being the legendary drummer and big band leader Buddy Rich, Weckl majored in jazz studies at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. His most famous early work, where his fame blossomed, was in Chick Corea's Elektrik Band from 1985-1990.

Starting out on the New York fusion scene in early 80's, Weckl soon found himself working with players such as Paul Simon, Madonna, George Benson, Michel Camilo and Anthony Jackson. Since 1990, he has released a total of seven solo recordings, 3 under his own name, and 4 under the name Dave Weckl Band. He has also been active in producing instructional material for drummers.
