Danny Fields


 

Danny Fields is mostly know for his influence and contribution to punk rock music via management. Bands he formerly managed include MC5 (for $20,000), The Stooges (signed as the brother band of the MC5 for $5,000), Ramones (with Linda Stein, former wife of Sire Records president Seymour Stein), Steve Forbert (with Linda Stein), Jonathan Richman (with Steve Paul), Modern Lovers (with Steve Paul), and Paleface. Other bands he managed with Stein included the ExHusbands and Shrapnel.

Danny was a former employee of Electra Records, where in addition to the MC5 and the Stooges he worked with the Doors and Arthur Lee and Love. He is a former executive at Atlantic Records. Danny Fields also edited 16 Magazine and worked as a columnist for SoHo Weekly News.
