Daniel Mendoza
Daniel Mendoza (5 July 1764 – 3 September 1836) was an English-Jewish prizefighter, who was heavy-weight boxing champion of England 1792-1795 and is considered the "father of scientific boxing".

Was well known for transforming the stereotypical image of a jew from a weak, indefensible person to a strong and tough warrior.

Mendoza was the first boxer to ever create a methodology for the art. His ability to overcome much heavier adversaries was a consequence of this. Members of his ancestry later went on to discover new styles in modern fencing.
