Dan Hinote (born January 30, 1977 in Leesburg, Florida) is an NHL ice hockey player currently playing for the Colorado Avalanche.

He was drafted by Colorado Avalanche with the 167th pick in the 7th round of 1996 NHL Entry Draft. He went to military school at West Point, and is the first NHL player ever to be drafted from there. Before joining the Avalanche he spent a few seasons playing for the Oshawa Generals of the OHL and the Hershey Bears of the AHL. In 2004-05 he represented MODO Hockey of the Swedish Elite League during the NHL conflict.
