Dallas Sidekicks
The Dallas Sidekicks were one of the longest operating professional soccer teams in the United States, operating from 1984 until suspending operations following the 2004 season. The team was founded as a member of the originial Major Indoor Soccer League. Over the years, the team played in three other leagues (CISL, WISL, and the current MISL). The team's most famous player was Tatu, who was known for throwing his shirt into the stands after every goal.

The team did not play during the 2004-05 MISL season and all MISL press releases for that season stated, the "Dallas Sidekicks, currently reorganizing under new leadership, plan to return for the 2005-06 season." However, no plans for their revival were apparent, and the team did not return. There are rumours that the team may return for the 2006-07 season.
