~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, United States, as Virginia Ruth Egnor . In the 1940s, she became a fashion photographer's model and later entered show business. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ She developed a very successful "dumb blonde" act, and appeared on such shows as Milton Berle's Texaco Star Theater, Broadway Open House, Dagmar's Canteen, and Hollywood Squares. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ She was married three times, to Angelo Lewis, Danny Dayton and Richard Hinds. She died at age 79. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ She is most famous for giving her stage name to the chrome bulges on the front bumper of many 1950s cars. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
