D.C. Cab


 

D.C. Cab is a 1983 comedy film, starring Mr. T, Max Gail, Adam Baldwin, Gary Busey and a special appearance by singer Irene Cara. The film is written and directed by Joel Schumacher. The R-rated comedy was controversial upon release due to the appeal of Mr. T among children, resulting in the film being mis-marketed in many regions.

Plot summary

Albert Hockenberry has just arrived in Washington D.C. and is on his way to work for his uncle who owns the cab company D.C. Cab. D.C. Cab is full of cab drivers who are whacky and mischievious. The drivers not knowing that they are worth something, they never work together as a team too much till Albert makes them see the errors of their ways. Harold, Albert's uncle, wants to improve the cab company. It comes to pass that one of the cabs contains a missing violin, and a $10,000 reward is posted for its return. One of the cabbies finds the violin but Harold has an idea to put the money in for the company. His wife Myrna takes the money. The cabbies are not happy about this, and Albert decides to donate his own money for the cab company instead. Albert and two children of a diplomat are kidnapped and the gang of D.C. Cab must rescue them.
