Cyril Scott


 

Cyril Scott (18791970) was an English romanticist composer with some impressionist qualities. His harmonic treatments and piano works depict the exotic.

Scott married Rose Allatini in 1921. They had two children: Vivian Mary Scott (born 1923) and Desmond Cyrill Scott (born 1926). He married his second wife, Marjorie Hartston, in 1943.

He was considered by some to be a great occultist in his time. He was a member of various groups including the Theosophical Society.
