Cyborg (film)

Cyborg was a 1989 science fiction film based in a post-apocalyptic future. It was originally intended as a sequel in the He-Man universe portrayed in the 1987 film Masters of the Universe, with the working title of Masters of the Universe 2: Cyborg. However the francise was losing interest, so Cyborg was released as a stand-alone film.

This was a low-budget film that was primarily intended as an action film vehicle for the martial arts specialist Jean-Claude Van Damme as the silent, brooding hero. It includes typical post-apocalypse garb and settings, and the plot does not bear close examination well. The acting was considered sub-par by film critics, and it was generally panned as being unintelligent with mediocre acting. Some viewers enjoyed the film, however, for its action content.
