Cuyahoga County, Ohio

Cuyahoga County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of 2000, the population is 1,393,978. Its county seat is Cleveland6. Cuyahoga County is part of Greater Cleveland, an informal metropolitan area. The county is named after the Native American word (possibly Algonquin) Cuyahoga, which means "twisted river." The name is also assigned to the Cuyahoga River, which bisects the county.
