The cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii) is a species of freshwater fish in the salmon family (family Salmonidae) of order Salmoniformes. It is one of the trouts.

Cutthroat troat are native to western North America. Some populations will live in the Pacific Ocean as adults and return to fresh water to spawn in the spring. These sea-run cutthroat trouts are very sought after in fly fishing.
