Crozer Theological Seminary
The Crozer Theological Seminary was a multi-denominational religious institution located in both Chester, Pennsylvania and nearby Upland. The school, which occupied the former Crozer Hospital (now the Crozer-Chester Medical Center), mostly served as a Methodist Episcopal (now United Methodist Church) school, training seminarians for the entry into the Methodist ministry. The most famous student of Crozer Seminary was the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. He attended the school in the late 1950s as a Baptist seminarian. The school closed in 1968 and the building is now a medical office on the grounds of the Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
