The men's basketball team is arguably the most successful of all of Creighton's athletc programs, having gone to the NCAA basketball tournament six of the last seven years (1999-2003, 2005, they went to the National Invitational Tournament in 2004), and dominating the Missouri Valley Conference the whole time. Whereas the men's soccer team has gone to the NCAA tournament every year for the last 13 years with 3 appearences in the Final Four and one appearance in the National Championship Match. As well as being the only Soccer program in the nation to have atleast one athlete taken in every Major League Soccer (MLS) draft to date.
