Crab-eating Raccoons resemble their northern cousins, the Common Raccoon, in having a bushy ringed tail and "bandit mask" of fur around their eyes. Their fur tends to be much shorter, however, and they are slightly larger. Head and body length of Procyon cancrivorus is 41 to 60 cm, tail length is 20 to 42 cm, height at the shoulder is about 23 cm, and weights range from 2 to 12 kg. Males are usually larger than the females.
