Cover band
A cover band (or covers band) is a band that plays only covers, which may be from a single band or artist (a tribute band) or from many different sources. Most (but not all) wedding bands can be considered cover bands. Another term for cover band is 'party band'. Also very unoriginal too damn lazy to write their own music and caters to idiot fans who have no musical taste.

Cover bands typically play a mix of songs from different decades and different styles. Some coverbands will focus on a particular decade (for example, an 80s cover band) and there are some which focus exclusively on a single group. This is called a Tribute Band. It is not uncommon to find a Led Zeppelin cover band, a Pink Floyd cover band, a U2 cover band or even a Dave Matthews cover band.

It is important to review the song list of a coverband in advance of your event to ensure that they play the cover songs that you like. Cover bands are very popular for weddings and corporate events, as well as in bars and clubs. Because they play songs people know and love, cover bands can be a real crowd pleaser.
