Born Corey McKay in Queensbridge of Long Island City, New York, a section of Queens Cormega is a rapper from Queens, New York, and participates in the New York hip hop scene. He was a prolific drug dealer before he began professionally rapping. His roots are similar to those of Brooklyn, New York rapper Jay-Z.

He was signed to the American record label Def Jam, but later started his own record company, Legal Hustle Records

Cormega has released 6 albums: "The Realness" July 2001, "The True Meaning" June 2002, The mixtape "Hustler/Rapper" from March 2002, "Legal Hustle" from May 2004, "Special Edition" from october 2004 (included "The True Meaning and "The Realness" + Bonus Tracks) and last in February 2005 "The Testament"
