Corio, Victoria
Corio is a residential and industrial suburb of Geelong, Victoria, Australia, located approximately 9kms north of the Geelong central business district. The area was once formerly known as Cowie. Industry in Corio includes a Shell Oil refinery built in 1956. The suburb will be bypassed by traffic from Melbourne coming from the Princes Freeway by the creation of the Geelong Bypass, due for completion in 2009.
