Corbin, Kentucky
Corbin is a city located in Kentucky. Most of the city is in Whitley County, Kentucky; parts also extend into Knox County. The urbanized area around Corbin also extends into in Laurel County, although the incorporated city limits do not enter Laurel. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 7,742. It is home to the Kentucky Fried Chicken Museum.
Points of Interest
Corbin is home to Cumberland Falls State Park which has the largest waterfall (by amount not height) south of Niagara Falls. Cumberland Falls is one of a few locations that a moonbow can be seen with regular frequency when the full moon is rising or setting. It is also home to the original KFC which still operates as a restaurant and museum. From Corbin Cumberland Gap National Historic Park, Big South Fork Recreation area, Laurel Lake, and Lake Cumberland are all accessible within forty-five minutes. Corbin is known as the Valley to the Parks.
