Coppell, Texas
Coppell is a city located in Dallas County,Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 35,958. The city is particularly noted for its high school, Coppell High School, widely considered to be one of the best high schools in the state.
Education
Most of Coppell is in Coppell Independent School District. Other parts are served by Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District. Controversy recently arose when Coppell High School was ranked "Academically Unacceptable" by the State of Texas. Given that many families move to Coppell for the prestige of the school system, this sent waves of discontent throughout the parents of CHS students.
