Copacabana

Copacabana is a district located in the southern zone of the city Rio de Janeiro, famous for its 4 km beach.

This is where the two metro stations can be found for underground transport to the rest of the city. This is preferable as the traffic jams during the day are abysmal.

In Copacabana can be seen the less savoury view of interactions between foreigners and Brazilians. The idyllic image created by the tourist industry means that tourists arrive here with little idea of what's going and are seen as targets by the locals.
