Copacabana (musical)
Copacabana is a musical written by Barry Manilow, based around the song of the same name.

The musical began when Dick Clark approached Manilow and cowriters Bruce Sussman and Jack Feldman, and persuaded them to develop a musical film around their popular song, Copacabana. The resulting 1985 production, starring Annette O'Toole (Lola), Barry Manilow (Tony), Estelle Getty (Tony's mother) and Joseph Bologna (Rico) was well-received, collecting an Emmy.

Soon after it was developed into an hour-long show for Caesar's Resorts in Atlantic City, and eventually expanded into a full-length musical for the West End. It opened in London at the Prince of Wales Theatre on June 23 1994 and ran for over two years, touring the UK for an additional year.
