Conversations of Goethe
Conversations of Goethe is a book of various recorded conversations with Johann Wolfgang von Goethe during the last nine years of his life. It was first released in 1836, and substantially augmented in 1848.

This book appears in different editions with different people, the most important of which is with Johann Peter Eckermann, and is also translated as Conversations with Eckermann. Another title sometimes used for the book is Conversations of Goethe, with Eckermann and Soret.

Nietzsche called it "the most important book of the Nineteenth century" (or "The best German book there is", or "the greatest book in German there is" -- translations vary.)
