Constantine Dragas


 

Constantine of Serres, nicknamed Dragases, was a regional lord and prince in the the fragmenting Serbian realm in the end of 14th century and in the beginning of 15th century. he ruled Eastern Macedonia from the town of Serres.

His daughter Helena Dragas was married to Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaiologos and they had ten children, two of those sons succeeding in turn to the imperial throne of Constantinople. The last of them was Constantine XI who in honor of his maternal grandfather used the name Konstantinos Dragases.
