Concord, although having no official district seperations, has developed into a "mini-San Francisco" with varying areas. The main focus being on downtown Concord with its 2 high rise buildings and dozens of low rise office buildings. Just to the east of downtown is oldtown concord, home of the lines of very old houses developed back when Concord was starting its growth spurt. The northwestern part of the city is highly industrial with refineries and factories. To the west of downtown is the more upscale uptown Concord including The Willows shopping center, new office buildings, nice restauraunts, and Waterworld USA Concord. A district so called "The Traingle" has also formed in the land between 680, 242, and 4. That area includes Buchanan Field Municipal Airport and the outlying Sunvalley Mall, a major outlet for the Mount Diablo Valley. Each district has its own vibe and feeling and new districts are arising all the time, including ethnic zones.
