Come As You Are

"Come As You Are" is a song by the grunge band, Nirvana. It is the third song on, and second single from, their 1991 album, Nevermind. It was the album's second most successful single, overshadowed only by "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Both songs are often credited with breaking Nirvana and grunge into the mainstream.

Other versions

An acoustic version of "Come As You Are" was played in the 1993 concert MTV Unplugged in New York and appeared on the album of the same name in 1994. The Nevermind version also appears on the band's 2002 best-of album, Nirvana. In 1993, Michael Azerrad used the song's title as the title of his own book, an unauthorized (but band approved) Nirvana biography. A "screaming" live performance, recorded in Amsterdam in 1991, appears on the band's 1994 home video, Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!.
