Colony wars

Colony Wars was a video game developed and produced for the Sony Playstation by Psygnosis. It is in the Shooter genre. At the time of it's release, it was one of the only game of it's kind and was widely regarded as one of the best shooter games to be released for the original Playstation during it's lifespan.

The game takes place in the distant future. Humans have further unlocked the secrets to longevity of life. As such, there was a population explosion on Earth and mankind began to venture into outer space to form colonies. Over time, the colonies in space became angry with the Earth Government and declared war.

The player assumes the role of a colonist who is fighting for freedom from the Earth Government by flying a type of small attack spacecraft and accepting various missions to fight against Earth forces.
