Clash of Champions

The Clash of Champions was started in 1988 by the NWA's Jim Crockett Promotions as a free PPV type broadcast in an effort to gain more viewers. When World Championship Wrestling bought Jim Crockett Promotions, they kept the Clash of Champions going until 1997, calling it Clash of the Champions.
