Claremont, Ontario
Claremont is a suburban community or village located north of Pickering and south of Uxbridge on Brock Road linking these places and a major road linking to Major Mackenzie Drive to the west in which was mainly unused until the 1990s. Brock Road is bypassed to the east. Claremont is situated in a hilly setting in which is mainly made up of mixed farming and forests. Forests dominate about 50 to 70% of the area around Claremont especially in the west and southwest where a foret park is founded as well as hills. The rest of the land are farmlands and streams. Claremont is situated in the Oak Ridges Moraine. The railway that connects with near Port Perry runs west of Claremont serving a train station. Claremont is located about S of Beaverton, SW of Port Perry, NW of Oshawa and about 55 km NE of downtown Toronto.
