Clare is a constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency has an electorate of 80,412 and at present is served by 4 Teachtaí Dála (TDs). The method of election is the Single Transferable Vote.

The Clare parliamentary constituency spans the entire area of the county, taking in Ennis, Shannon, Kilrush, Newmarket-on-Fergus and Ennistimon. The constituency is historically a Fianna Fáil stronghold. The party founder, former Taoiseach and former President Eamon de Valera served the constituency for many decades. His granddaughter is still a TD for the area. Other notable former deputies include the former President of Ireland, Patrick Hillery, and the former Cabinet Minister, Brendan Daly.
