Clara Butt
Clara Butt (1872-1936) was an operatic singer.

Born in Sussex, she made her début in London at the Albert Hall in the "Golden Legend," and in "Orfeo" at the Lyceum. Since these appearances she has been much in demand as a singer. She made many gramophone recordings, always accompanied by the (uncredited) pianist Miss Lillian Bryant.

She married a fellow singer, Kennerley Rumford, and changed her name to Clara Butt-Rumford.
