This outstanding success may give an appearance of a hot house, but the school places enormous emphasis on extra curricular activities, being particularly strong on the arts, appropriate for a school located across a lake from the Barbican Arts Centre. Furthermore, teachers are encouraged to go 'beyond the syllabus', exploring wider issues to nurture girls in areas that are not examined.

The school is diverse, ethnically, culturally and socially. This great strength is maintained by a vigorous campaign of raising money for Bursaries, to help talented girls from less privileged backgrounds and could not afford the fees, attend the school.
