Chuck Daly
Charles J. "Chuck" Daly (born July 20, 1930 in St. Marys, Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh), is a former basketball coach who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on May 9, 1994. Daly grew up in the Pittsburgh area town of Kane, Pennsylvania, where he attended St. Callistus Catholic School. He played college basketball at St. Bonaventure University (1948-49) and Bloomsburg (1949-52). He is famous for coaching the Detroit Pistons for nine years and winning consecutive NBA championships in 1989 and 1990, as well as for coaching the gold medal-winning basketball Dream Team in the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympic Games. In addition to Detroit, Daly also coached the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets and Orlando Magic during his 14-year NBA career.
