Christian Socialist Movement

The Christian Socialist Movement, or CSM, was set up in 1960 by Donald Soper and a number of others who wanted an organisation that would be politically active and theologically reflective in British politics. It was a volunteer organisation until 1994 when it appointed a co-ordinator, followed by an administrator. This followed interest in the movement following the disclosure that the then Labour Leader John Smith was a member. Its current Executive Committee Chair is Bev Thomas.
