Chris LeDoux (October 2 1948March 9 2005) was an American country music singer/songwriter, and rodeo champion.

Chris LeDoux was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, and raised in Austin, Texas. He was known for his lively performances, which included fireworks and LeDoux riding a mechanical bull between songs. LeDoux spent his time off the road with his family at their ranch in Kaycee, Wyoming.

In 1992, LeDoux teamed with singer Garth Brooks to record the hit song, "Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy."

In 2000, LeDoux was diagnosed with a liver disease, and successfully underwent a liver transplant. In late 2004 he was diagnosed with cancer and began undergoing radiation treatment.

LeDoux died in Casper, Wyoming. He was 56 years old. He had recently checked into the Casper Medical Center following complications from ongoing treatment for cancer of the bile duct, and was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his death.
