Chiny is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Luxembourg and the Gaume region. On January 1st, 2005 Chiny had a total population of 4,966. The total area is 113.69 km² which gives a population density of 43.68 inhabitants per km².

Chiny is located in the south of the French-speaking region. The municipality is on the boundary between the region of Gaume and the Ardennes.
