Chetham's School of Music
Chetham's School of Music, familiarly known as "Chet's", is a specialist music school in Manchester. It is well-known in the UK for producing many of the country's professional musicians. It was established in 1969 at the site of Chetham's Hospital, an orphanage founded by Humphrey Chetham in 1653. The school now has more than 280 pupils, and the original 15th century college, built in 1421, still houses the pupils. Chetham's is also famous for it's self-brewed ale, "Old Humphrey's".
