Chet Culver


 
 

Chet Culver (born 1965) is the current Secretary of State in the U.S. state of Iowa and a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Iowa in 2006. Before entering public service in 1998 he was a high school teacher in Des Moines, Iowa. His main opponents for the Democratic nomination are former director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development Mike Blouin and seven term State Representative Ed Fallon.

He currently resides in West Des Moines, Iowa with his wife Mari Thinnes Culver and their two children Clare Honour and John William.
